The Naugatuck Historical Society is involved in several community-minded programs. They include:

The Dana J. and Verna A. Blackwell Award
This award honors the first president of the Naugatuck Historical Society and is given to a student majoring in history or engineering.

Naugatuck Historical District
Naugatuck contains many historical buildings, most in the Naugatuck Center Historical District which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Educational Programs
The Naugatuck Historical Society provides educational programs for school children and other organizations.
